Got a pie that could make Grandma nervous? A crust so flaky it should come with a warning? Then roll up those sleeves, dust off that rolling pin, and join the tastiest showdown of the sesquicentennial!

The Filling (Details)
Don’t be afraid to take whisks in the pie baking competition. The pie bake-off is open to bakers of all ages and skill level. Entries will be judged in the following categories:
- Fruit Pie
- Non-Fruit Pie
- Youth Category
Pies will be evaluated on appearance, crust, filling, and overall flavor.
Not a baker? No Problem. Come enjoy the event and sample pies by the spoonful- free of charge.
The Crust of the Matter (Rules)
Do you have what it takes to rise to the occasion?
- One entry per baker.
- Each entry must include two pies–one for judging and one tasting.
- Entries must be in the name of the baker.
- A typed recipe with a list of ingredients and directions is required. Strictly for the judges, we won’t share or keep your recipe.
- Pies must be brought in disposable bakeware.
- Pies must be dropped off at City between 11 and 11:30 a.m.
- No refrigeration or heating once pies are dropped off.
- Pies may not contain raw or uncooked eggs.
- All contest rulings are final.
- Register by May 1 to claim your place at the table!
- No entry fee-just a pie worth talking about.
As Easy as Pie (Judging Criteria)
Our judges will be looking for:
- Eye-catching appearance
- That perfectly flaky crust
- Delicious well-balanced filling
- Overall flavor that makes us say, “just one more bite!”
