Green Bounty Program: Pear Removal Reward

Stop the invasive Callery Pear Tree Takeover!

Callery pear trees, seen blooming with white flowers in spring, are actually harming our local environment! They are invasive and threaten the health of our native plants, wildlife, & ecosystems. AKA: Bradford Pear, Cleveland Select, and others

Why Are Callery Pears a Problem?

  • They crowd out native plants by growing fast & blocking sunlight.
  • They reduce food & shelter for local birds, pollinators, & wildlife.
  • They spread quickly through seeds carried by birds, invading more neighborhoods.
  • Their weak branches break easily in storms, causing safety risks.
  • They disrupt natural benefits like clean water, healthy soil, and carbon storage.

Ohio has banned planting or selling Callery pears—but millions already exist in our region, continuing to cause damage.

You Can Help — And Get Rewarded!
