Art Exhibit: Deidre Dyson

See artwork by local landscape artist Deirdre Dyson. In early 2024, a gallery space was installed at City Hall. The gallery is rotated seasonally and features local artists.

Approximately 50 paintings by local artist Deidre Dyson are on display at Loveland City Hall, 120 W Loveland Ave., through Nov. 15.

Visit the gallery during lobby hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The gallery will also be open 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7 — the same day as the Loveland Art Festival, an outdoor event in Historic Downtown that will feature 70 artists.

Dyson is known for her style of painting “En Plein Air” — believing there is no substitute for being directly in front of her subject to observe light, shadows, season and weather. She works in oils, favoring dramatic lighting and bold color. She is inspired by travel, nature, and her childhood spent in the English countryside.

Her art has been displayed locally and as far as New York and New Mexico.

Dyson and her husband came to the US from England in the 1970s. They have been Loveland residents for more than 40 years. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP) and is the owner of Art House II, 430 W Loveland Ave. She has taught at the Cincinnati Art Academy, Loveland High School, and at her studio gallery.

All artwork on display at City Hall is for sale. If you are interested in purchasing a painting, please contact Deirdre Dyson at (513) 313-2450 or Dyson.ah2@gmail.com. More information can be found at www.dysonpaintings.com.
